Olympics 2024 and Grand Paris

31/10/2017

Paris will host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024. With new metro lines that will serve major Olympic venues and the international airports, the Grand Paris Express is a crucial factor of this winning application.

Olympics 2024 and Grand Paris constitute a doubly winning opportunity for French manufacturers. The new metro lines will serve the Olympic Village, located near the Saint-Denis Pleyel station (lines 14, 15, 16 and 17). Nearby, the Stade de France will host the athletics events, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games. A bridge over the motorway A1 will link the Stade de France to the future aquatic center, where swimming, synchronized swimming and diving will take place.

Representing an economic impact of 8 billion €, the Olympics 2024 is a bonanza for the French construction sector. 2 billion euros will be invested to build the three Olympic sites (Olympic and Paralympic Village, Media Village and Aquatic Center).

As a consequence, French activity is expected to increase drastically. This framework is a springboard for the international award of the “Expo 2025”.
